The Marayah Cares Foundation held its first marinated crab feed on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the SES Hall in Elk Grove. We are overwhelmed by the support we received which made it possible to host this extremely successful event. As you can see from some pictures that evening, this sold out event was filled with fun, smiles, laughter and the company of some great friends. We also had the opportunity to forge new friendships and wish to extend our sincerest thanks to the volunteers from the Portuguese Hall in Pocket and Lions Laguna Creek Club. Without their tireless efforts, patience and guidance, this event would not have been possible. Guests enjoyed Joe’s famous pasta and Ruben’s legendary marinated crab. Many went home with some great raffle prizes and our dessert auction was over the top! If you missed out on this sold out event, please look for us next year!
Caring for others is what Marayah was all about. Through these fundraising efforts, we will be able to award scholarships to her graduating senior classmates for college in the fall of 2023. We continue to partner with the Elk Grove Animal Shelter in sponsoring pet adoptions. Personalized Marayah Cares Foundation care packages are regularly sent to children going through cancer treatment. Most recently, the Marayah Cares Foundation has been able to fulfill a wish for a 10 year cancer patient who has requested a customized walker to assist with mobility. With your generous support, we will continue to seek out families struggling with childhood cancer and support them in any way we can.
